Central Asia “Chialphastan” Update

In August 2006, a team of 14 people (AKA “Chialphastan”) embarked on an exciting journey to change their world for the glory of God. After living in Central Asia for only two months, God has miraculously given us divine appointments and favor with authority. In some divine appointments, we have heard incredible responses to the revelation of sensing the Holy Spirit in us such as, “You are clean and without sin”; “I am not a believer, but I am searching”; and “Next time, I want to talk about God.” These university students are ripe for harvest, as Jesus said in John 4:35, and it is time for us to reap the harvest of souls in this land. As the whole team has found themselves busy with “The Gathering” (the first Chi Alpha meeting in Central Asia), small discipleship groups, English groups, teaching in school, and planning big events such as “Narnia Night” and “Karaoke Night,” E. Scott Martin keeps saying, “Well, what about next year?”

After most of us go home in August, we need to see four to six people take our places in the harvest field with a sickle in hand. As more students come to Christ, we believe there will be a wave of believers needing discipleship and more seeking students needing fellowship and direction. We believe God might be speaking to your heart right now about giving a year of your life to Him on the mission field. Every time we walk on the streets, ride a marshutka, or hike in the beautiful mountains, we thank God that He called us here. It is a place of beauty, adventure, and ripe fruit. But, if we do not pick the ripe fruit now, it will rot and die. Please, do not let the ripe fruit rot by not responding or at least finding out more about this opportunity!
