By Jenni Ramsey
A Mind for Missions by Paul Borthwick.
Gives a great overview of world missions and
also demonstrates practical ways to get involved. It covers topics such as prayer, following and
praying through current events, caring for missionaries and how to make strategic lifestyle
choices with a missions worldview.
Let the Nations Be Glad by John Piper
Focuses on the supremacy of God in missions. John Piper
does a great job reminding us why we “do” missions—because of God’s power and because we
are all called to worship Him. He states that worship is the ultimate goal of the church and that
proper worship should fuel missions.
The Touch of Jesus by Paul Eshleman, director of the JESUS Film ministry
True stories, easy
reading, one of the best missions books out there! This book lists true stories of JESUS Film
teams around the world and the miracles and wonders
they encounter while showing the JESUS Film. The book
is encouraging and a great overview of how God is moving
in every tribe, tongue and nation.
Eternity in Their Hearts by Don Richardson
A classic
missions book. This book shows how hundreds of cultures throughout history have known of
“the One True God” before ever hearing the name of Jesus. It is a powerful book that shows
how God has used cultural bridges, through missionaries, to bring the gospel to the most remote
people of the world.
