Prayer for Africa
By Mike McClaflin - Africa AGWM Regional Director
Father,
Give us the capacity to lift our eyes to look beyond the problems and challenges of Africa and see the opportunities before
us in Jesus’ name. It is so easy to become totally focused on war, famine, pestilence, hunger, disease, HIV/AIDS, homeless
children, child soldiers, the abused, the oppressed and the
marginalized to the point that we are overwhelmed
and can easily feel helpless. Again, Lord, lift our
eyes to see the opportunities each crisis in Africa
affords us.
Open doors for us and give us wisdom to
know how to respond to Africa’s spiritual
and human needs.
Give us compassion for the lost, for the
hurting, for the poor, for those of other
religious paths … for the great “whosoever”
– the millions of souls in Africa.
Give us the resources to make a lasting, meaningful
impact: spiritual, financial and human
resources, O God. Without your strong hand
we can do little. With it, we can do much. You are
capable – in fact you promised – to fulfill our needs according
to your divine capacity, limitless and unfathomable.
Today you are calling and preparing men and women
in a variety of places with a variety of giftings that can be
a great blessing to your kingdom work in Africa. O God, may
those you are leading to Africa hear and submit to your calling voice,
becoming those divinely called human resources we so desperately need.
Bless the churches in Africa, Lord, our church leaders, every pastor, every believer. Solidify a partner relationship with them
that will bring glory, growth and victory to your work.
Thank You, Father,
Amen
