Prayer for Eurasia
By Jerry L. Parsley - Eurasia AGWM Regional Director
Dear Heavenly Father,
I come before you in awe of your wondrous power at work in Eurasia today. It is beyond anything
missionaries dared to dream of only a few years ago. Through creative outreaches and
“out-of-the-box” ministries, the gospel is penetrating spiritually dark areas.
During the past year, a Chi Alpha team broke barriers, both culturally and spiritually, in Kyrgyzstan.
As team members made friends and shared the gospel with high school and college students, they found
ready hearts eager to receive. May the work they planted continue to grow and flourish, even after
they return to the United States.
The Middle East and North Africa area continues to be the
focus of worldwide attention. You are attentive to it as
well. By your Spirit, you are calling workers to establish
a presence in “closed” countries and build relationships
with people so desperate for hope. Please guide those
who live in restrictive environments. Help them to
be open to your leading as they develop ministries
that reflect your love. Bind every hindrance of the
enemy, and let your power and peace be evident.
I am so thankful for what you are doing in Southern
Asia. This area appears to be on the verge of
a mighty move of your Spirit. Nepal, formerly
known as the world’s only “totally Hindu” nation,
is now experiencing a groundswell of revival. Believers
are trekking the harsh Himalaya Mountains
to take the good news to remote villages. Across
Southern Asia, we desperately need more workers.
Give us wisdom and direction to reach the waiting
harvest. We dare not let it wither and die.
Politically and economically, the CIS/Baltics area
has struggled to find itself following the fall of communism.
A vibrant church has emerged after years of
oppression, but it faces overwhelming needs. An entire
generation of children and youth is growing up with no
knowledge of the truth. I pray for the university fellowship
as it plants ministries on campuses throughout Russia. Give
strength to those who are giving Your Word to youth in public
schools across the area. May their efforts make a difference in the lives of
people and in nations.
O God, as I cry out for the millions in Eurasia who don’t know you, I trust you in faith to
continue the work you have started. Call workers to Eurasia and grant them anointing and strength.
Continue to give us eyes of faith for a mighty outpouring on this spiritually parched region that
is so thirsty for Living Water.
In Jesus’ name I pray.
"I believe that suffering is a school and I am always ready to go back to class."
